Successful project proposals will address at least one of ARPA-E’s two mission areas:
- Enhance the economic and energy security of the United States through the development of energy technologies that result in a reduction of imports of energy from foreign sources, reduction of energy-related emissions including greenhouse gases and improvement in the energy efficiency of all economic sectors.
- Ensure that the United States maintains a technological lead in developing and deploying advanced energy technologies.
Eligible Applicants: Individuals, for-profit entities, educational institutions, non-profit entities, and consortiums
Match: 5 percent of total project cost in for-profit entity applications. There is no match required for individuals, educational institutions or non-profit applicants.
