KLJ was awarded the Project of the Year Award from the Billings Engineers Club. KLJ’s project team constructed a three-year plan to lengthen Baker Municipal Airport’s existing runway and parallel taxiway to increase aircraft’s total takeoff weight and enhance the airport’s efficiency and productivity. KLJ also replaced an aging lighting system with LED technology.
Through KLJ’s leadership Baker Municipal Airport was the first in the state to fully implement LED technology. The airport is now safer, more cost effective and a greater asset to local users and the business community arriving and departing from the airport.
The Billings Engineer’s Club annually presents the award in recognition of a firm that exhibits outstanding achievement using innovation in engineering design.
