The Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation has released notification of funding availability for projects that leverage federal and non-federal funding to support efforts to stretch scarce water supplies and avoid conflicts over water.

The deployment of broadband, using reliable, high-speed infrastructure, will soon become an essential component to operational efficiency for many communities. Broadband networks provide the framework for communities to evolve as “smart cities.” As such, a community can use data to more efficiently manage functions like traffic control and emergency response, enhancing convenience and safety for the public.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is accepting Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant applications for the FY 2019 application cycle. These grants provide funds to develop and maintain recreational trails and trail-related facilities in Montana.

The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation is accepting applications through the RRGL Planning Grant Program to provide funding for professional and technical services necessary to produce a high-quality RRGL grant application leading to a project that conserves, manages, develops, or protects Montana’s renewable resources.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is accepting applications for the Outdoor Recreation Grant Program to increase and enhance outdoor recreation facilities in local and community parks throughout the state.

KLJ, Sioux Falls Regional Airport Authority, and T&R Contracting, Inc. received the 2018 National Excellence in Concrete Pavement “Gold” Award in the Reliever & General Aviation Airports Category in November for recent work at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport.

We are proud to announce that our team has been awarded three American Council of Engineering Companies of Montana (ACEC/MT) awards for work performed for the Havre Readiness Center, Lockwood Targeted Economic Development District (TEDD), and Town and Country Fertilizer Depot. Each project is rated on uniqueness and/or innovative application of new or existing techniques; future value to the engineering profession and perception by the public; social, economic, and sustainable development considerations; complexity; and successful fulfillment of client/owner’s needs, including schedule and budget.

KLJ and T&R Contracting, Inc. will receive the 2018 National Excellence in Concrete Pavement in the Reliever & General Aviation Airports Category next month for our recent work at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport. The award is granted by the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) to recognize high-quality concrete workmanship performed by contractors, engineers, and project owners.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced the current grant process for SRTS and TA grants.

Crawford, who will serve KLJ as a senior project manager, brings 25 years of extensive transportation engineering and planning experience, including noise analysis, design, traffic impact studies, travel demand model forecasting, and environmental reviews.

The United States Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration has released notice of funding for the construction, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of nationally-significant projects within, adjacent to, or accessing Federal and Tribal lands.

South Dakota Department of Transportation has announced funding availability in the Bridge Improvement Grant (BIG) program. Funds may be utilized for on and off-system bridges for preliminary engineering, preservation, rehabilitation, or replacement.

Thanks to collaboration between KLJ and the Cities of Bismarck and Mobridge, both cities’ airports have been designated among 37 nationwide finalists to receive FAA supplemental funding.
