We are excited to welcome Dr. Chris Davis to KLJ! Chris joins the team as an archaeologist, and is located in our Englewood, CO office. He is an expert in archaeological excavation, zooarchaeology and taphonomy, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), technical reporting, and digital techniques in archaeology, just to name a few.

The Grafton Flood Risk Reduction Project Lifted the City of Grafton, ND out of a 100-year Floodplain. KLJ is proud to announce that the Flood Risk Reduction Project for the City of Grafton, ND has received a 2021 Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Dakota (ACEC/ND).

Several states have begun to set numeric nutrient water quality criteria for nitrogen and phosphorus, which on the surface looks like it will benefit everyone.

South Dakota Department of Transportation announces the availability of 2021 Transportation Alternatives (TA) funds. This program includes Safe Routes to School, Scenic Byways, and Recreational Trails projects and activities that were previously eligible under the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), encompassing a variety of smaller-scale transportation projects such as pedestrian and bicycle facilities, recreational trails, Safe Routes to Schools projects, community improvements such as historical preservation and vegetation management, and environmental mitigation related to stormwater and habitat connectivity.

A three-year- construction project recently came to an end when Bismarck Airport’s Runway 13-31 officially opened on October 19. Reconstruction of the 8,794-foot-long primary runway has been in the works since 2011.

Relocating an international airport is never an easy task, and not necessarily common in the aviation world, but that is exactly what happened in Williston, ND. The Williston Basin International Airport officially opened Oct. 10, 2019, when an incoming flight from Minneapolis landed at the new, state-of-the-art facility.
