Jacob Schuster and Colton Smith Earn Licensures

KLJ is pleased to announce that Jacob Schuster has earned Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Minnesota.  

Schuster is a Senior Survey Crew Chief in Eagan, Minn. with more than eight years of experience in land surveying. He has extensive experience conducting boundary and topographic surveys, drafting easement exhibits, and performing ALTA surveys. He also writes legal descriptions for a variety of projects, including transmission lines and solar energy development. The process of obtaining a Professional Land Surveyor license in Minnesota involves rigorous standards, including passing the Principles and Practices of Land Surveying (PSLS) exam and a State-Specific Land Surveying Examination. Schuster earned his bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

Additionally, Colton Smith earned his Professional Engineer license in the State of North Dakota.  Smith is a transportation civil engineer based out of Fargo, N.D. He has more than 7 years of experience in the engineering field and has worked on several major projects throughout the region.  The licensing process requires engineers to complete a four-year college degree, work under a Professional Engineer for at least four years, pass two intensive competency exams, and earn a license from their state's licensure board. Smith earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Dakota State University.
