Spindler Promoted to VP of Human Resources and Safety
KLJ Engineering (KLJ) is pleased to announce the promotion of Recruiting Manager and Divisional Human Resources (HR) Director, Kristi Spindler, to the role of Vice President, Human Resources and Safety, effective January 1, 2021. Spindler joined KLJ in 2019, with multiple years of HR experience, and brings a strong focus in HR process and strategic initiatives within recruitment and onboarding, performance management, leadership development, and culture. In her previous role, as KLJ’s Divisional HR Director and Recruiting Manager, Spindler has transformed the company’s talent acquisition processes and played a significant role in realigning components of the company’s production management structure to further enhance connecting supervisors and staff throughout the organization.
“The HR & Safety function at KLJ plays a critical leadership role in growing the capabilities of our company. I’m delighted to have a leader of Kristi’s caliber prepared to continue and grow the strong contribution this team has made to the growth strategies of KLJ,” said Chief Executive Officer, Dean Anagnost.
As an active member of her community, Spindler serves on the Board of Directors for BIOGirls, Inc., a non-profit organization with a mission of improving self-esteem in adolescent girls through empowerment of self and service to others. She is also the current past-president and board member for the Agassiz Valley Human Resources Association Board of Directors.
“KLJ has a long history, dating back to the 1930’s, and we continue to push into new geographies and markets each year. In order to do that, we need to attract the best and brightest professionals who our clients want to work with every day. A strong Human Resources team can help attract and retain those professionals, and I am looking forward to working with leaders across the company on strategic HR opportunities as we continue to pursue our mission and growth of the organization,” said Spindler.
This leadership transition has been enabled by the implementation of the succession plan for current Vice President of Human Resources and Safety, Bob Berman. “I am very pleased to be able to transition into retirement with a leader as capable and prepared as Kristi Spindler to seamlessly step into the role” said Berman. He joined KLJ in 2014 after an extensive Human Resources career at Eastman Kodak Company, where he served as Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President.
