Wetland Program Development Grants

The US Environmental Protection Agency, Region 8, has released notice of funding to assist applicants in developing or refining programs which protect, manage, and restore wetlands. The primary focus of the grant is to develop/refine state and Tribal wetland programs. The secondary focus is to develop/refine local (county or municipal) programs. The goal of the funding is to increase the quantity and quality of wetlands in the US by conserving and restoring wetland acreage and improving wetland condition. Applicants should address how they will develop or refine their programs to address:

  • Monitoring and Assessment
  • Voluntary Restoration and Protection
  • Regulatory approaches including CWA 401 Certification
  • Wetland Specific Water Quality Standards

Eligible Applicants: States, Tribes, local government agencies, universities, and interstate/intertribal entities

Award Ceiling: $250,000                                                                        

Match: 25 percent
