Johnson Named One of 15 Women You Need to Know
A big congratulations to our Chief People Officer, Emily Johnson, who was recognized by the Greater North Dakota Chamber (GNDC) on the 2024 15 Women You Need to Know list. This list spotlights individuals whose achievements are driving progress in their organizations and industries, and Emily is doing just that at KLJ!
Emily, who is in KLJ’s Bismarck office joined KLJ in 2010, she is a driving force behind KLJ’s dynamic and vibrant culture. This role fits her well and aligns her abilities to lead and foster connections with those across the organization and communities KLJ serves. Over the years she has held various leadership roles related to marketing, communication, human resources, and engagement.
Her experience includes successfully leading the company through a complete rebrand, specifically, the strategy, creation, development, and implementation of a new logo, tagline, ad development, and placement, establishment of brand standards, enhanced social presence, website redesign, and a long-term marketing strategy. Additionally, Emily led the implementation of new collaborative communications channels across the company. In her most recent role, of chief people officer, she looks to play a pivotal role in aligning communication, marketing, engagement, and people.
Emily is a member of the Society for Human Resources (SHRM), HR Certification Institute (HRCI), and Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). She is actively involved in her local United Way, volunteers for various STEM-related activities, and has been a longtime supporter of Sanford Health Great American Bike Race, a fundraiser dedicated raising funds for children in the region who suffer from cerebral palsy or other related disabilities.
Emily earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and an MBA certificate in HR Management. Additionally, she earned her SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification. She was recognized by various organizations for her achievements throughout her career, including Business Watch 40-Under-40, Prairie Business Magazine 40-Under-40. Prairie Business Magazine Top 25 Women in Business, and Bismarck-Mandan Chamber EDC’s 20-Under-40.
