KLJ Welcomes Craig Johnson

KLJ Engineering LLC (KLJ) is pleased to welcome Craig Johnson, PLS, CFedS, to the team as Community Land Solutions team joins KLJ’s survey practice

Johnson is a Professional Land Surveyor registered in Minnesota and a Certified Federal Surveyor with more than 47 years of experience in the surveying industry bringing a wealth of knowledge to KLJ. Most recently, Johnson was part of the Community Land Solutions team that joined KLJ to expand survey capacity and capability to Central Minnesota, focusing on infrastructure projects in the area.  

Throughout his career, Johnson has worked on a wide variety of residential, commercial, municipal, transportation, and aviation projects across the Midwest. His expertise includes ALTA surveys, construction staking, subdivision platting, boundary determinations, and legal description preparation. He has worked in notable projects including managing construction staking services for the Highland Bridge Mixed Use Development in St. Paul, the Minnesota State Capitol restoration, and multiple Northstar railway stations. He has also contributed to airport projects across Minnesota and Wisconsin, including the Minneapolis International Airport, New Ulm Municipal Airport, Rochester International Airport, La Crosse Regional Airport, Chippewa Valley Regional Airport and Buffalo Municipal Airport. In addition to technical experience, Johnson brings a strong client-focused approach, a passion for business development, and a reputation for visualizing project needs before they arise. 

Johnson is a member of both the Minnesota Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS) and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS). He earned his bachelor’s degree in geography and land surveying from St. Cloud State.
