We're excited to celebrate Nels Lund and Brent Noonan as recipients of the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC's 2026 20 Under 40 award. The award recognizes emerging leaders who are helping shape the future of businesses, organizations, and communities through leadership, innovation, and community involvement.
Nels Lund, PE
Nels is a project manager on KLJ’s Aviation team, where he partners with communities to improve and modernize their airports. His experience in airport engineering, planning, funding, and project delivery helps clients navigate the technical and financial considerations that come with aviation projects.
Beyond his work at KLJ, Nels serves as past president of the North Dakota Society of Professional Engineers Chapter 3, where he supports fellow engineers and professional growth. He also serves on the Leadership Team and Finance Committee at Harvest Methodist Church and volunteers with Celebrate Recovery and Shoes of Hope.
Brent Noonan, PE
Brent is a professional engineer and public works team leader on KLJ’s Public Works and Transportation team. Since joining KLJ, he has contributed to projects throughout North Dakota, including the Mandan Tennis Center, St. Mary’s Central High School, the Bismarck Municipal Ballpark, and improvements at Pembina Gorge State Park Campground.
Brent regularly volunteers his time to introduce young people to STEM and engineering careers, including supporting engineering exploration days and the annual Discover Engineering event in Bismarck. He has also served in the North Dakota Army National Guard since 2009 and has held several leadership positions with the North Dakota Society of Professional Engineers Chapter 3.
We're grateful to have Nels and Brent on the KLJ team. Their collaborative approach, commitment to helping others succeed, and willingness to serve both their profession and community make them valued leaders, trusted colleagues, and tremendous assets to our team.
