Montana Department of Transportation Airport Loan and Grant Program

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) Aeronautics Division loan and grant program provides grants and low interest loans to eligible airports and aviation facilities throughout Montana. Applications can be submitted for any airport or aviation related improvement project and can also be submitted retroactively, so if a project has already been started or completed, the airport can still apply for monies after the fact. Projects that are typical include pavement maintenance/rehabilitation or construction, lighting, communications and/or other infrastructure, terminal or pilot lounge construction, and fuel systems.

Eligible Applicants: Publicly owned airport or facility that is publicly used.

Award Ceiling: $100,000

Match: 50 percent of the airport’s share of federally funded (NPIAS) airport project costs. No match for non-federally funded projects.

Deadline: November 15, 2017
