WaterSMART Water and Energy Efficiency Grants

The Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation has released notification of funding availability for projects that leverage federal and non-federal funding to support efforts to stretch scarce water supplies and avoid conflicts over water. Grants support projects that result in quantifiable and sustained water savings and reliability. Projects are those that conserve and use water more efficiently, increase the production of hydropower, mitigate conflict risk in areas at high risk of future water conflict, and accomplish other benefits that contribute to water supply reliability in the United States.

Eligible Applicants: States, Tribes, irrigation districts, water districts, and other entities with water or power delivery authority.

Maximum Funding: $300,000

Match: 50 percent
