Mike Bittner, a traffic engineer with KLJ, will provide unique insight this week at the annual Minnesota Transportation Conference held at the Saint Paul RiverCentre. The focus for this year’s conference, which is the largest transportation event in Minnesota, is “Working Together – Connecting Minnesota.” On Wednesday, March 4, Bittner will give a presentation on breaking old habits with new traffic models.

KLJ is proud to announce that three projects have recently been recognized with award recognition.

You may have heard it in a roundabout way that KLJ has a new transportation engineer in our Sioux Falls office – and it’s true! KLJ is proud to announce that Paul Knofczynski has joined our team!

KLJ’s Jeremy Larson will participate in a panel discussion on cloud switching at the Rural Broadband Association’s annual RTIME conference on February 16 in Phoenix, Arizona. During his breakout session at 10:00 a.m., he will discuss the future of telecom switching and the alternative switching platforms companies can use to maintain voice market share.

KLJ’s Dickinson office recently relocated. The Dickinson-based staff moved into the new office, located at 677 27th Ave. E., on February 7, 2020. KLJ has been part of the Dickinson, ND, community for more than 80 years.

The Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration has announced the availability of grants through the Buses and Bus Facilities Program. Grants may be utilized to assist in the financing of buses and bus facilities capital projects, including replacing, rehabilitating, purchasing or leasing buses or related equipment, and rehabilitating, purchasing, constructing or leasing bus-related facilities.

We are proud to announce that KLJ has been awarded the 2020 Best of the Western Edge “Best Engineering Firm” by The Dickinson Press. This award is a Reader’s Choice Contest, voted on by the community.

KLJ received a Grand Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Minnesota (ACEC/MN) on January 23, 2020, for the work we performed on Minnesota Trunk Highway (TH) 149. The award, which was presented during the ACEC/MN 53rd annual awards banquet in Minneapolis, recognizes projects that exhibit excellence and ingenuity.

Ryan Marquette, an engineer in our Fargo office, earned his professional engineering license (PE) in Minnesota.

Josh Brelje, Jacob Friesz, and Traci Sletmo recently earned their PEs in North Dakota; Eric Ler earned his PE in Montana; and Bryan Larson earned his PE in Minnesota.
