An Environmental Assessment (EA) is required for the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) to issue a take permit for bald eagles that commonly nest on poles owned and maintained by the Orlando Utilities Commission in Florida.

Completing the EA and facilitating approval of the EA Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) from USFWS will require a dedicated and responsive team to navigate the new federal permitting guidelines, which have not yet been finalized, and verify the EA is in compliance with these guidelines.

KLJ's multi-disciplinary team of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) specialists, environmental scientists, avian specialists, and support staff worked together to best meet the client's needs. The team's experience in completing more than 100 similar National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) environmental review documents since 2013 and previous experience with avian surveys and permitting for utility projects were primary factors in being selected for this contract.
