KLJ Awarded Two ACEC North Dakota Engineering Excellence Awards
KLJ is pleased to announce the firm has been awarded two Engineering Excellence Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Dakota (ACEC ND). The ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards program recognizes projects that demonstrate engineering excellence, innovation, and meaningful community impact.
The recognition honors KLJ’s work on the Direction 2050 and Citywide VISTRO Modeling Project, which received an award in Category A for Studies, Research and Consulting, and the Bismarck Municipal Ballpark Restoration, which received an award in Category J for Small Projects.
Each project was evaluated based on uniqueness and innovative application of engineering techniques; complexity; social, economic and sustainable considerations; future value to the engineering profession and public perception; and successful fulfillment of client needs, including schedule and budget.
Direction 2050 and Citywide VISTRO Modeling Project provides a comprehensive, data-driven transportation planning tool to support informed decision-making at the citywide level. Using advanced modeling techniques, the project evaluated current and future traffic conditions to help identify operational improvements, prioritize investments, and support long-range planning efforts. The study equips the client with actionable insights to improve mobility, safety, and system performance while planning for future growth.
The Bismarck Municipal Ballpark Restoration focused on restoring and upgrading a valued community facility while maintaining its character and functionality. The project addressed infrastructure improvements, safety enhancements, and accessibility considerations. KLJ worked closely with the client to deliver practical solutions that extend the life of the facility and support continued community use.
