Pine Ridge Grant
KLJ Engineering LLC (KLJ), is proud to announce our team recently secured more than $37.5 million in grant funding from the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT). The funding, awarded through the Rural Surface Transportation grant under the Multimodal Project Discretionary Grant (MPDG) program, will support critical infrastructure improvements for the Oglala Sioux Tribe’s Pavement Resiliency and Restoration Project on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
The project will restore, resurface, and improve approximately 103 miles of highways, including BIA Routes 2, 14, 25, 28, 33, and 41. This essential work will enhance connectivity among Tribal communities within the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, ensure reliable year-round access to Badlands National Park, and upgrade routes along the Tribally designated Crazy Horse Scenic Byway.
KLJ works with 33 Tribes throughout Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. We have extensive experience providing comprehensive planning, design, construction administration, infrastructure, public engagement, and grant writing/management services for our Tribal clients. We are honored to play a role in delivering engineering solutions that help strengthen Tribal communities, support economic development, and improve quality of life.
