Two Surveyors Earn Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) Licensure in North Dakota
KLJ Engineering LLC (KLJ) is pleased to announce that Colin Healy and Soren Sanderson have each achieved Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure in the state of North Dakota. Professional Land Surveyor licensure is a significant professional milestone requiring a combination of education, progressive experience, and successful completion of rigorous examinations. Licensed surveyors are legally authorized to perform boundary determinations, certify land surveys, and provide essential documentation that supports property ownership, infrastructure development, and public safety.
Healy, PLS, is based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and has seven years of experience in the engineering field. His background includes topographic and boundary surveys, research, and traffic studies. Since joining KLJ in 2021, Healy has supported a range of survey efforts that help clients and communities move projects from concept to construction with clarity and precision. He earned associate degrees in civil engineering technology and land surveying science technology from Southeast Technical Institute.
Soren Sanderson, PLS, serves the Bismarck area with more than 11 years of experience in highway and municipal project design. His work spans preliminary surveys, construction staking, observation, and documentation for highway, urban, rural, and aviation projects. Sanderson earned a Bachelor of Science in biology with minors in chemistry and environmental sciences from the University of Mary, as well as degrees in engineering technology and biology from Bismarck State College.
“Earning PLS licensure reflects a strong commitment to technical excellence and service,” said Michael Conlee, Survey Practice Leader at KLJ. “Colin and Soren’s achievements strengthen our ability to deliver accurate, reliable survey solutions that support responsible growth and long-term community development throughout North Dakota.”
KLJ congratulates Healy and Sanderson on this accomplishment and looks forward to their continued contributions in serving clients and communities across the region.
