The Grafton Flood Risk Reduction Project Lifted the City of Grafton, ND out of a 100-year Floodplain. KLJ is proud to announce that the Flood Risk Reduction Project for the City of Grafton, ND has received a 2021 Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Dakota (ACEC/ND).

KLJ is proud to announce that Light of Christ Catholic (LOC) Schools and KLJ were recently recognized by Chapter 3 of the North Dakota Society of Professional Engineers (NDSPE) for the work completed on St. Mary’s Central High School Campus and presented the 2021 Project of the Year award. The award recognizes projects that include innovative engineering and provide benefit to society.

We are excited to announce the recent promotion of both Travis Wieber and Shane Steiner, who will now serve as Delivery Directors for Transportation and Aviation, respectively. Additionally, we are pleased to welcome Chris Krafft, who recently joined KLJ as the Telecommunications Delivery Director.

KLJ Engineering is proud to recognize Caitlin Wotruba, who recently earned her Professional Engineering (PE) License in Minnesota. Wotruba works in KLJ’s Saint Paul, MN office as an Associate Civil Engineer specializing in traffic engineering.

KLJ is proud to be among the presenters for this year’s South Dakota Airports Conference taking place virtually this week. KLJ aviation planners Matt Nisbet and Andrew Zielike will lead a discussion on wind analysis for airport planning projects and why it is necessary. Additionally, KLJ aviation project manager, Jake Braunagel, will present information on precision approach path identifiers (PAPI) discussing everything from proper PAPI design to FAA flight inspection information.

KLJ Engineering announced today the passing of CEO Barry Schuchard after a hard-fought battle with cancer. A pillar of KLJ, Schuchard spent 38 years with the company, guiding the organization from many roles over the years, most recently stepping into the CEO role January 1, 2021. His legacy was built on a demand for quality, and openness with communication, and an unwavering trust and confidence in all KLJ employees-owners and projects.
