The Sun Shot Solar in Your Community Challenge is a prize competition that aims to expand solar electricity access to all Americans, especially underserved segments such as low-and-moderate income (LMI) households, state, local, and Tribal governments, and nonprofit organizations.

The Department of Energy is soliciting applications to install energy generating systems and/or energy efficiency measures for Tribal buildings, deploy community-scale energy generating systems on Tribal lands, and install energy systems for autonomous operation (independent of the traditional centralized electric power grid) to power a single or multiple essential Tribal facilities during emergency situations or for Tribal community resilience.

The United States Department of Agriculture, Uplift America Community Facilities Relending Program announces they have awarded $14 million in federal funds to the Montana & Idaho Community Development Corporation (MICDC) ($10 million) and the Farmers Bank of Victor ($4 million) for the purpose of relending to persistent poverty rural towns with populations less than 20,000.

USDA, Rural Utilities Service Telecommunications Program has announced the 2019 funding cycle Community Connect Grants. Grants are designed to provide financial assistance to provide broadband service in rural, economically challenged communities where broadband service does not currently exist.

The US Department of Agriculture is accepting applications through the ReConnect Rural Broadband Program to provide $600M in funding to expand broadband across rural areas.

US Department of Transportation Federal Transit Administration is accepting grant applications for the FY 2019 application cycle of the Passenger Ferry Grant Program. This program will provide $30M in competitive funding for projects that support passenger ferry systems in urbanized areas.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is accepting applications for the Outdoor Recreation Grant Program to increase and enhance outdoor recreation facilities in local and community parks throughout the state.
