The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Route 7 to US Hwy 83 Improvement Project, Phase 1 was honored with the 2022 SDES Black Hills Central Chapter’s Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award.

KLJ is proud to announce that Jess Karls will now serve as associate vice president of Transportation. In this role, she will oversee the client management of the company’s transportation services. Specifically, Karls will focus her efforts on helping support the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT), ensuring projects are delivered effectively and efficiently, utilizing all infrastructure-related services KLJ provides.

KLJ was awarded a “2022 Engineering Excellence Award” by The American Council of Engineering Companies of Minnesota (ACEC/MN) for our work on the Trunk Highway (TH) 22 Corridor Study project. TH 22 from St. Peter, Minn. to Mankato, Minn., is the highest-trafficked section of two-lane highway in Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) District 7, an area in the southwest corner of Minnesota encompassing roughly 10 percent of the state by land area and total roadway.

We are proud to announce that Wade Thompson, a structural engineer with KLJ’s bridges team, has earned his Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota.

We are proud to announce that Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Brent Noonan has earned his Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Dakota.

We are proud to announce that Matt Martin recently earned his Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Dakota. Martin is a civil engineer-in-training (EIT) with more than four years of experience.

Oz Khan is based out of KLJ’s Saint Paul, Minnesota location. He is a transportation engineer and planner with experience in traffic operations and safety studies, traffic impact studies, traffic forecasting, traffic modeling and simulation, long range transportation plans, GIS analysis, speed studies, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, pavement management, context-sensitive solutions, asset management, noise analysis, and advanced statistical analysis.

KLJ is pleased to announce that we were honored with the 2022 Engineering Excellence Award from the Montana Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC/MT) for our work on the Kalispell, Mont. Core and Rail Redevelopment project.

The Grafton Flood Risk Reduction Project Lifted the City of Grafton, ND out of a 100-year Floodplain. KLJ is proud to announce that the Flood Risk Reduction Project for the City of Grafton, ND has received a 2021 Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Dakota (ACEC/ND).
